PAPA Stage Acting

Trials & Visiting Classes

Choosing the right performing arts class is an important decision for both students and families.

At Perth Academy of Performing Arts, we offer several ways to experience our acting, musical theatre and drama classes in Perth before committing to full enrolment.

Families can take part in our three-week trial program, observe a class through an audit session, or join us during Bring a Friend Week to experience the welcoming PAPA community.

Three-Week Trial Classes

We do not offer single trial classes for a number of important reasons. A single lesson simply isn’t enough to experience the depth, structure, and benefits of our program. In our experience, the true value of what we offer becomes clear over time, not in just one session.

Resilience grows through ongoing participation. This consistent commitment helps foster a strong work ethic, grit, dedication, and lasting relationships and gives the best opportunity for children to grow.

Introducing a new student into an established group can shift the class dynamic and impact the connections that have been built between students. We place great value on maintaining a supportive and consistent environment where relationships can grow naturally. When children attend regularly they build meaningful bonds with their classmates and with teachers - connections which strengthen as they learn and work together each week with the same group of people.

For these reasons, we offer a three-week trial period at the beginning of each term. This gives children enough time to form connections, feel comfortable in the group, and discover whether the class is the right fit for them. We encourage families to take this three-week trial option, so that children have the opportunity to truly engage, build confidence, and grow. Should you choose to continue for the remainder of the term, the cost of the trial will be credited toward your term enrolment.

We understand that starting something new can feel like a big step. Our teachers are experienced in helping children settle in with confidence and ease. If you would like to discuss how we can support your child’s transition into classes, we encourage you to get in touch.

Audit a Class

Any Session

At Perth Academy of Performing Arts, we understand that choosing the right class for your child is important. That’s why we invite families to audit a class — an opportunity to come along and observe a session in action. Watching a class gives you a chance to see our teaching style, the supportive atmosphere we create, and how students learn, collaborate and grow through performing arts. It’s a relaxed way to get a feel for our community and decide if the class is the right fit for your child before enrolling.

Check the timetable for a class and location that you wish to come along and observe and let us know via email.

Bring A Friend Week

Week 8 of Each Term

Bring a Friend / Make a Friend Week is all about sharing the joy of performing arts and helping new students feel at home.

Current students are invited to bring a friend along to experience a class and see what it’s like to be part of the PAPA community.

For those coming on their own, it’s the perfect chance to meet new people, try something creative, and build confidence in a supportive environment. Whether you arrive with a friend or walk in solo, our classes are designed to be welcoming, encouraging, and a place where friendships naturally grow alongside creativity and performance
